ABOUT ME
I am a multiracial Puerto Rican trans woman from a working class family in Brooklyn, New York. My personal political framework is centered on anti oppression, class consciousness, and harm reduction. I came to my personal politics and values from time spent on the ground in anarchist and socialist organizing spaces. My healing practice began when I started exploring my own internal world, and what I learned through that journey changed my life.
I aim to give my clients a framework through which to recontextualize their lives. Informed by the Internal Family Systems model and various somatic approaches, I hope to reframe past experiences and provide tools which make dealing with present day stressors easier. My work is meditative, dynamic, and collaborative. I aim to put the client in the drivers’ seat in-session, with the intention that the feeling of agency carries over into everyday life.
I enjoy working with other trans, nonbinary, Black, Latine, indigenous, disabled, and generationally marginalized folks. People at these intersections of identity often experience a unique life journey, and I hope to offer an empathetic and understanding ear to the lives of those often left behind by the wider society. Additionally, I hope to offer services to men who have historically been culturally discouraged from asking for any kind of help.
ABOUT IFS
The Internal Family Systems model was developed by Richard C. Schwartz in the 1980s as a means to heal past traumas. Though we have all had adverse experiences, we do not have to be shaped by them. Our work will be meditative, collaborative, and dynamic. We will explore your inner world together, heal old wounds, and provide tools which can be used to help with present-day stressors.
